Characteristics of the Insured Unemployed. This dataset provides information on the ethnic composition of unemployment insurance claimants. The data are based on those who file a continued claim in the week containing the 19th of the month, which reflects unemployment during the week containing the 12th. This corresponds with the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Current Population Survey. (Source: ETA-203). Data is based on the Characteristics of the Insured Unemployed report (ETA-203). This information is collected on the UI initial claims application and is self-identified. Providing ethnic information is optional. Data represents continued claims for the week including the 19th of the month. The dataset includes Regular Unemployment Insurance (UI). The dataset does not include Unemployment Compensation for Federal Employees (UCFE), Unemployment Compensation for Ex-service members (UCX), Voluntary Shared Work and temporary extensions such as Extended Benefits (EB) and Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC).
