Iowa Median Earnings in Past 12 Months for the Civilian Employed Population 16 Years and Over by Occupation (ACS 5-Year Estimates)
This dataset provides median earnings in past 12 months for civilian employed population 16 year and over by occupation for State of Iowa, individual Iowa counties, incorporated places (i.e., cities) and census tracts within Iowa. The median earnings refers to the income value that divides the earnings distribution for a geography, time period and demographic into two equal parts, with half of the earners having income above that value and the other half below it. Data is from the U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey, Five Year Estimates, Table B24011. The five year data are collected over a period of 60 months for all geographic areas. Estimates are more reliable for smaller areas (under 20,000 population). Values should not be aggregated across multiple variables, geographies, and years. Also, comparisons should not be made between overlapping data collection periods (e.g. 2012-2016 and 2013-2017).
