Illinois Income Tax LGDF

Published by data.cityofchicago.org | City of Chicago | Catalog Last Checked: July 07, 2026 at 09:28 PM | Dataset Last Updated: March 16, 2026
The State of Illinois distributes a percentage of income tax receipts to units of local government on a population-weighted basis through the Local Government Distributive Fund (LGDF). That percentage has changed over time. This dataset shows what each unit of government received, based on that year's rate, and how much more or less it would have received under a hypothetical set of rates. The model uses the Illinois Department of Revenue's "Income Tax, Local Use Tax, and Cannabis Use Tax Disbursements" database for its calculations. These projections are estimates that do not account for any adjustments made during internal audits that local governments may have.
