HHS Metadata Standard
HHS data assets will be documented using DCAT-US v3.0, the metadata schema in development by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for all federal data inventories. DCAT-US v3.0 will replace the legacy DCAT-US v1.1 standard and reflects requirements established under OMB Memorandum M-25-05, developed with support from the Federal Chief Data Officers Council and the General Services Administration (GSA). This approach ensures HHS metadata remains consistent, interoperable, and discoverable in alignment with the Evidence Act and government-wide open data policy.
