    Each year a greater number of visitors in vehicles use park roads, which increases the need for vehicle barriers. Barriers are one way to define vehicle access and to restrict vehicle encroachment. The degree to which barriers block vehicles varies. Steel road gates prevent vehicle entry to roads, trails, and other closed areas, such as administrative roads and campgrounds.
