Fire effects monitoring data collected at Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee and North Carolina, at Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area in TN and KY, at the Cherokee National Forest in TN, and on Cherokee BIA lands in NC. The data were collected during spring/summer/fall field seasons by the fire effects monitoring crew out of Great Smoky Mountains National Park from 2001 - 2025. Data collected from 30 m radius forest plots include CBI (Composite Burn Index) burn severity assessment data used for ground truthing and thresholding dNBR ( delta/differenced Normalized Burn Ratio) classified burn severity imagery.
