FEMA is developing the capability to understand the full extent of disaster impacts within 72 hours post-incident using Geospatial Damage Assessments. This analysis takes advantage of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)-based modeling and remote sensing processes to provide initial situational awareness and expedited recovery planning.
