Published by National Park Service | Department of the Interior | Catalog Last Checked: August 01, 2026 at 04:03 AM | Dataset Last Updated: May 01, 2026 at 12:00 AM
Fire effects monitoring data collected at George Washington Carver National Monument in Diamond, MO. The data were collected during spring, summer, and fall field seasons by the Heartland Inventory and Monitoring Network 2010- 2025. The GWCA FFI database primarily contains fuels monitoring and fire severity data, but also includes disturbance history data. Data refer exclusively to grassland monitoring plots. Data were collected from seven 50 x 20 m macroplots. Grassland protocols focus on the two 50 m transects per macroplot. The published protocols for fire ecology and plant community monitoring can be found on the HTLN website or IRMA datastore (Leis et al. 2011, Leis et. al. 2022) http://science.nature.nps.gov/im/units/htln/library/Vegetation/PlantComm/PlantCom_2009_p.pdf.
