This product is a georectified and tonally balanced image mosaic of aerial photographs collected in February 1935 by the U.S. Soil Conservation Service along the floodplain of the Colorado River in the Lake Mead region of Arizona and Nevada. This dataset was developed to portray the geologic characteristics of the lower Colorado River floodplain and can serve as a resource to help create a historical geologic map depicting the floodplain and river channel features prior to significant flow regulation by Hoover Dam. The mosaic is provided in both GeoTIFF and MrSID file formats.
