Geophysical data collected near Quitobaquito Spring in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, AZ

Geophysical methods were used to characterize the hydrogeology and potential groundwater flow pathways for spring discharge. The direct-current resistivity method was used along six line-locations to determine groundwater elevation surrounding the spring and to characterize potential faults or fractures that would act as conduits for flow. The transient electromagnetic method was used at two locations northwest of the Quitobaquito spring at the site of historic groundwater discharge. Microgravity measurements were made at 113 locations surrounding the spring in order to determine the thickness of basin-fill deposits and isostatic residual gravity value that could be used to inform depth to bedrock estimates.
