Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Catalog Last Checked: August 01, 2026 at 03:34 AM | Dataset Last Updated: March 05, 2025 at 12:00 AM
This data release includes soil temperature data collected in the floodplain of a restored reach of Underwood Creek in Wauwatosa, WI. The soil temperature data were collected to evaluate the effectiveness of the restoration project for reducing peak flows though infiltration of floodwater into the restored floodplain. Continuous soil temperature data were collected from 6 sites (4a, 4c, 6a, 6c, 7a, and 7c) between May 2018 and October 2021. Temperature probes were installed at the soil surface (depth 0.0 cm) down to 100 cm for sites 4a, 4c, 6a, and 6c, and 57.5 cm for site 7a, and 50 cm for 7c. Each dataset has data collection time (both in UTC hour and a local hour) and temperature data in degree C.
