This database contains field survey data collected between July 2002 and September 2002 for an inventory of Diamondback Terrapins at the Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area (GATE). During this time, 203 nests were found, and 49 different turtles were captured and marked. The investigators estimate that approximately 200-300 terrapins live in Sandy Hook bay.
