The Data Inventory Program (DIP) application facilitates the official process for documenting and maintaining metadata records on datasets from FEMA IT systems that serve operational or decisional value. The DIP doesn't contain the data from the datasets but contains high-level descriptive information on key characteristics/attributes of the dataset and contains details such as:rnrnDescription of the datasetrnTitle of the datasetrnSource System of the datasetrnother system-level attributes around ATO artifacts and privacy compliancernDate the dataset was first issuedrnDate the dataset structure was last significantly modifiedrnRefresh Frequency of the actual data in the datasetrnAccess LevelrnStructure of the datasetrnFormat of the datarnAccess URLrnData StewardrnFEMA Organization that manages the systemrnother attributes rnrnRecords in the DIP are maintained by the responsible IT system staff, and the Data Management Branch in EAD/OPPA regularly synchronizing this information with the DHS system of record on metadata management (Mobius).
