Exposure Model Topics Metadata
The curated Water Scarcity articles and curated metadata were fed into a structural topic model (STM). Topics and other statistics about the content of the articles were generated for review by social scientists. The topics were statistically clustered and labeled, and can be used to understand frequently reported water-scarcity events in our study. This dataset identifies latent topics in a corpus of news articles describing water scarcity related issues reported in the Upper Colorado River Basin (UCRB) over the 2000-2024 period. This dataset identifies the STM produced topics and qualitative review of those topics to assess larger themes discussed in the news.
