Expert responses of influential habitat attributes for at-risk species

Metadata Updated: July 20, 2024

The data indicate the number of experts (out of 27 who were involved in this expert elicitation process) who rated a set of environmental, ecological, climatic, anthropogenic, or other attributes as highly, somewhat, or slightly influential to habitat and species conditions. Experts provided responses for the gopher tortoise (Gopherus polyphemus), southern hognose snake (Heterodon simus), Florida pine snake (Pituophis melanoleucus mugitus), gopher frog (Lithobates [Rana] capito), and striped newt (Notophthalmus perstriatus). A full discussion of the compilation methodology and sources used to conduct expert elicitation and use responses in a habitat suitability analysis is available in the accompanying publication: Crawford, B.A., J.C. Maerz, & C.T. Moore. 2019. Expert-informed habitat suitability analysis for at-risk species assessment and conservation planning. Journal of Fish and Wildlife Management. in review.
