This data release consists of the estimated extent of coastal flooding due to storm surge. Storm surge values were derived from 2 sources; National Weather Service (NWS) SLOSH (Sea, Lake, and Overland Surges from Hurricanes) MOM (Maximum of the Mean Envelope of Overwash Water (MEOW)) (Jelesnianski et al.,1992) and in areas where SLOSH output is not available then historic patterns of extreme high water events at tide gauges was used (Tebaldi et al., 2012).
