Equivalent point source mapping of self-potential in the Escanaba Trough (Central Hill)
This data release contains self-potential (SP) electric field data measured from about 65 meters above the seafloor located at the Escanaba Trough, Central Hill, in the northeast Pacific Ocean. These data were collected using a redundant, quasi-three-component electric field sensors carried by the autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) Sentry during an expedition to the Escanaba Trough in the northeast Pacific Ocean in 2022 (USGS Field Activity 2022-621-FA). A SP map was generated by using equivalent point sources to represent the electric field data and using the equivalent point sources to compute a representative potential. These data are available as a GeoTIFF float32 file.
