From September 19 - October 3, 2025 from Guam to Koror, Palau, NOAA Ocean Exploration conducted the Beyond the Blue: Palau Mapping 3 expedition (EX2507), a mapping and eDNA collection expedition with opportunistic marine mammal observations to the West Pacific. EX2507 mapped 28,060 sq. km of seafloor (2,325 in the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone). All data associated with this expedition have been archived and are publicly available through the NOAA archives. This expedition was originally scheduled for 20 days, intending to begin on September 19 and end on October 8, 2025. Due to a lapse of appropriations in federal funding on October 01, the expedition was impacted resulting in a reduction of operational days at sea.
