Dynamic Compressive Stress-Strain Curves for 1018 Carbon Steel Between 23 °C and 940 °C with Rapid Heating

This dataset contains raw mechanical data (strain, stress and strain rate curves and initial temperatures) for compression experiments performed on AISI 1018 steel in a heat treated condition (1018 HT) using the NIST pulse-heated Kolsky Bar [1] at strain rates between 4000 1/s and 6000 1/s and initial temperatures from 23 °C to 940 °C and total heating times of 3.5 s. At this time, the thermal histories of the specimens during heating are not included in the dataset but this information may be included in a future update. The experimental methods, material characterization and a subset of this data are presented in [2].
