Dissolved inorganic carbon, alkalinity, temperature, salinity and other variables collected from discrete sample and profile observations using CTD, bottle and other instruments from HEALY in the Arctic Ocean, Beaufort Sea and Bering Sea from 2002-07-18 to 2002-08-21 (NCEI Accession 0113953)

This dataset includes biological, chemical, discrete sample, physical and profile data collected from HEALY in the Arctic Ocean, Beaufort Sea and Bering Sea from 2002-07-18 to 2002-08-21. These data include AMMONIUM (NH4), CHLOROPHYLL A, DISSOLVED INORGANIC CARBON (DIC), DISSOLVED ORGANIC CARBON, DISSOLVED OXYGEN, Delta Oxygen-18, Dissolved Organic Nitrogen, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, Lignin, NITRATE, NITRITE, PARTICULATE ORGANIC CARBON, PARTICULATE ORGANIC NITROGEN (PON), PHAEOPHYTIN, Potential temperature (theta), RADIUM ISOTOPES, SALINITY, TOTAL ALKALINITY (TA), Total Dissolved Nitrogen (TDN), UREA, WATER TEMPERATURE, phosphate, silicate and thorium isotope. The instruments used to collect these data include CTD and bottle. These data were collected by Nicholas Bates of Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS), Jacqueline M. Grebmeier of Chesapeake Biological Laboratory (UMCES CBL), and Lee W. Cooper of University of Maryland (UMD) as part of the CARINA/32H120020718 dataset. CDIAC associated the following cruise ID(s) with this dataset: CARINA/32H120020718 The CARINA (CARbon dioxide IN the Atlantic Ocean) data synthesis project is an international collaborative effort of the EU IP CARBOOCEAN, and U.S. partners. It has produced a merged internally consistent dataset of open ocean subsurface measurements for biogeochemical investigations, in particular, studies involving the carbon system. The original focus area was the North Atlantic Ocean, but over time the geographic extent expanded and CARINA now includes data from the entire Atlantic, the Arctic Ocean, and the Southern Ocean.
