This dataset includes discrete sample and profile data collected from POLARSTERN in the South Atlantic Ocean from 2012-01-07 to 2012-03-11. These data include CHLOROFLUOROCARBON-12 (CFC-12), DISSOLVED INORGANIC CARBON (DIC), DISSOLVED OXYGEN, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, NITRATE, NITRITE, Potential temperature (theta), SALINITY, SULFUR HEXAFLUORIDE (SF6), TOTAL ALKALINITY (TA), WATER TEMPERATURE, phosphate and silicate. The instruments used to collect these data include Alkalinity titrator, CTD, Coulometer for DIC measurement, bottle and pH sensors. These data were collected by Mario Hoppema of Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) and Toste Tanhua of GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, Kiel, Germany as part of the CLIVAR_A12_06AQ20120107 dataset. CDIAC associated the following cruise ID(s) with this dataset: ANTXXVIII/3 The International CLIVAR Global Ocean Carbon and Repeat Hydrography Program carries out a systematic and global re-occupation of select WOCE/JGOFS hydrographic sections to quantify changes in storage and transport of heat, fresh water, carbon dioxide (CO2), and related parameters.
