    Designated Idaho State Forests [Historical]

    The downloadable ZIP file contains an Esri shapefile.  Boundaries of the state forests designated by the Idaho Land Board.  These boundaries are administrative in nature and currently encompass state, federal and private timberlands. These lands are "primarily of value for forestry, recreation and watershed" and state forest designation "will constitute an aide to the State in the administration and management of these lands and increase public awareness of our State-owned forest resource" (Idaho Land Board Minutes, 12/21/1961).These data were contributed to INSIDE Idaho at the University of Idaho Library in 2008.
