This dataset includes the average monthly assistance units and recipients of assistance from the Department of Social Services (DSS) by town for State Fiscal Years 2003-2014.
A case, also known as an assistance unit, consists of one or more individuals who apply for or receive assistance together under one of the programs of the Department of Social Services (DSS).
A recipient is an individual that receives assistance under one or a number of programs of DSS.
About this data
For privacy considerations, a count of zero is used for counts less than five.
Counts are estimated due to AU/recipient address correction.
Figures may not add due to rounding.
