Datasets for the 2025 USGS National Seismic Hazard Model for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands

Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Catalog Last Checked: August 01, 2026 at 03:07 AM | Dataset Last Updated: December 16, 2025 at 12:00 AM
This data release contains datasets associated with the 2025 Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands (PRVI) National Seismic Hazard Model (NSHM) (Shumway and others, 2025), which is an update of the original 2003 PRVI NSHM (Mueller and others, 2003, 2010). Datasets include model inputs like seismicity catalogs, smoothed seismicity spatial probability density functions and rates, subduction interface fault geometry and geologic deformation model parameters, fault-system solutions for the earthquake rupture forecast (branch-averaged and epistemic), and outputs like mean hazard curves and uniform-hazard ground motion data, epistemic uncertainty data, and hazard and risk maps.
