Data release for invasive silver carp movement rates in the Tennessee, Cumberland, and Ohio Rivers, 2017-2022
This dataset accompanies the article "Estimating seasonal and monthly movement rates of invasive silver carp with a temporally variable hidden Markov model". The data come from the experimental capture and tagging of invasive silver carp with acoustic transmitters. These transmitters emit signals that are detected and recorded on receivers that are strategically placed above, within, and below Barkley, Cheatham, Kentucky, and Pickwick Lock and Dam in the Tennessee, Cumberland, and Ohio Rivers. Downloaded data showed when fish transitioned from one reservoir (state) to the next. To ensure data were being collected with confidence, periodic field testing of the acoustic receiver was performed.
