Data on bat skin microbiome from bats in the southwestern United States, 2013-2016, including bacteria isolates, Pseudogymnoascus destructans (Pd) inhibition characters, media used, and associated GenBank accession numbers
This dataset includes information on the external microbiome of various bat species in the southwestern United States. We describe the level of Pseudogymnoascus destructans (Pd) inhibition characters of the bacteria and the associated GenBank accession numbers are provided. The dataset appears as supplemental tables 1-4 in the associated manuscript. Supplemental Table 1 provides a summary of bacteria isolates identified from select bat host species and the general locations from which they were sampled from. Additionally, these data provide corresponding media used for analyses and related GenBank accession numbers. Supplemental Table 2 provides a summary of bacteria isolates identified from select bat host species and the general locations that produce various levels of Pseudogymnoascus destructans inhibition. Additionally, this table provides corresponding ecoregions from site locations and GenBank accession numbers. Supplemental Table 3 provides lists of variables used for pair-wise comparisons and their related raw and adjusted p-values. Additionally, these variables include season, type of cave, surface vs. below ground, geographic location, ecoregion, type of medium used to culture bacteria, and species of bats. Finally, Supplemental Table 4 provides a summary of bacteria isolates and their respective GenBank accession numbers that serve as phylogenetic references to this study.
