Data in support of flow frequency report--Magnitude and Frequency of Peak and Low Flows in the Elkhorn River Basin, Nebraska, 1881-2022
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Nebraska Department of Transportation, initiated a flow-frequency study for the Elkhorn River basin in Nebraska for flow data for water years 1881-2022. Estimates of the magnitudes of peak flow were determined using the USGS PeakFQ flood-frequency program, version 7.5.1 at the 50, 20, 10, 4, 2, 1, 0.5, and 0.2 percent chance annual exceedance probabilities (otherwise known as the 2-, 5-, 10-, 25-, 50-, 100-, 200-, and 500-year floods, respectively). Low-flow frequency magnitude estimates were computed using the U.S. Geological Survey Hydrologic Toolbox version 1.0.0 for the 1-day, 7 day, and 30 day time series at the 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 year recurrence intervals.
This data release contains data supporting the larger work: (1) PeakFQ inputs and selected outputs for streamgages in the Elkhorn River basin in Nebraska; (2) appendices from the larger work.
