This dataset supports the manuscript “Does aging alter the strain-rate response of PPTA body armor fibers? A paired single-filament investigation”. The study examined two related questions: whether the relationship between quasi-static (QS) and high strain rate (HSR) tensile properties of poly(p-phenylene terephthalamide) (PPTA) fibers is preserved during accelerated aging and whether QS-based tensile inputs remain reliable for predicting ballistic-performance degradation. Two commercially produced PPTA fibers, referred to as Aramid A and Aramid B, were aged for up to 531 days at 70 °C and 76 % relative humidity (RH). Failure stress and failure strain were measured at four nominally QS strain rates and at one HSR. This repository consists of raw and processed Favimat+ and NIST Mini-Kolsky Bar data for bulk and paired testing, and a script for statistical analysis of these data that reproduces the analyses found in the manuscript. In total, it consists of about 3 GB of data in 105 files (including documentation).
