This feature layer contains housing-related indicators from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year Estimates, along with calculated fields derived from the ACS source data. It is intended for use in the Connecticut Housing Data Hub to support mapping, analysis, and decision-making.The dataset includes both raw variables directly pulled from the ACS (e.g., median rent, housing unit counts, vacancy rates) and additional calculated indicators (e.g., rent burden percentages, housing cost ratios) developed using custom Python scripts. Data is updated annually using the most recent ACS 5-Year Estimates available. All variables are spatially joined to CT municipality geometries and are formatted for compatibility with web mapping applications and dashboards.CT Geodata Portal Housing landing page: https://geodata.ct.gov/pages/housing Geographic ExtentCoverage: State of Connecticut ClassificationsSensitivity: PublicUsage: Public UseQuality: High QualityKnown Quality Issues: None CurrencyCreated: 2022Update Frequency: Annually (based on ACS 5-Year release cycle)Last Updated: August 2025 LineageOriginated: CT GIS Office (Office of Policy and Management)Methodology: Data was pulled and processed using custom Python scripts that access the U.S. Census Bureau API.
