Cruise Ship Counts and Passengers by Arrival at Ports Top 25 Ports 2019 thru 2023
Cruise ship vessels are defined in this report as vessels that have significant passenger (non-crew) berthing and undergo overnight recreational voyages on ocean and/or Great Lakes waters.
Cruise ship vessel arrivals where the total passenger count was less than twenty passengers are excluded from the report.
Vessels that typically undergo inland river voyages are excluded from this report.
In advance of summer of 2021, several cruise ship vessels, working in concert with U.S. Health agencies, engaged in mock trial excursions using crew members as 'passengers', therefore, all cruise ship vessel arrivals from March 2020 through June 2021 are excluded from this report.
The ports of entry are classified using the Schedule D Customs and Border Protection Districts and Ports Codes for U.S. Foreign Trade Statistics, and may differ from the port classifications of state and local port authorities.
