Cross Sections of the Puyallup and Carbon Rivers collected by David Evans and Associates, Inc., in 2023
In the spring of 2023, David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA), under contract from Pierce County, collected a series of cross sections along the Puyallup and Carbon Rivers. Those data are presented here in CSV form without modification from the original deliverables beyond minor changes to column names. Data collection was designed to re-occupy sections surveyed in 2009 and 1984 by the U.S. Geological Survey (Prych, 1988; Czuba and others, 2010). Surveys were conducted with a Trimble R12i global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receiver for ground shots and a single-beam echo sounder paired with real-time kinematic GNSS (RTK-GNSS) for submerged channels. See survey notes from David Evans and Associates, Inc. included in this data release for more details. Analyses of 2009-23 change are presented in Anderson (2025).
