Published by data.cityofchicago.org | City of Chicago | Catalog Last Checked: April 27, 2026 at 03:05 PM | Dataset Last Updated: April 21, 2026
Cooling Centers offer residents air-conditioned refuge from oppressive summer heat. Cooling Center locations are offered across Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) community service and senior centers, Chicago Public Libraries, Chicago Park District, City Colleges, and Police Districts, as depicted in the supporting map linked below. Some facilities are activated only during periods of extreme heat or when conditions warrant. Holiday hours may vary. You can call 3-1-1 to locate the nearest open cooling center.
