Boundaries - Ward Precincts (2025-)

Published by data.cityofchicago.org | City of Chicago | Catalog Last Checked: March 21, 2026 at 08:42 PM | Dataset Last Updated: March 12, 2026
Ward precincts, which function as local election districts to determine the polling places for voters, based upon their addresses. Precincts are based on U.S. Census Bureau blocks. This version of the precincts layout was approved by the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners on December 9, 2025. The first election using this configuration of precincts is the March 17, 2026 General Primary. CHANGES FROM THE PREVIOUS PRECINCTS VERSION: Two pairs of precincts, each pair in one ward, had changes in their mutual boundaries. All other precincts, in all other wards, remain the same (both in location and naming) as the previous precincts file from 2023. The changes are found in: Ward 44, precincts 4 and 8 exchange some territories between them; and Ward 50, precinct 11 received some territory from precinct 12.
