Published by Bureau of Land Management | Department of the Interior | Catalog Last Checked: May 05, 2026 at 07:28 PM | Dataset Last Updated: March 04, 2024 at 08:54 PM
This polygon feature class represents the spatial extent and boundaries for BLM Wild Horse and Burro Herd Area polygons within the BLM Administrative State of Nevada. BLM Wild Horse and Burro Herd Areas have been designated by The Wild Free-Roaming Horse and Burro Act of 1971 as areas that wild horses and burros appeared to be inhabiting. Federal lands identified in 1971 but not managed for wild horses and burros are called Herd Areas. Originally designated Herd Areas contain Herd Management Areas. Management status can change based on changing conditions.
