Published by California Department of Health Care Services | State of California | Catalog Last Checked: June 26, 2026 at 08:25 PM | Dataset Last Updated: June 03, 2026 at 06:13 PM
The Behavioral Health Public County Profile represents DHCS’s effort to consolidate key county behavioral health information into a consistent and accessible format, helping reduce fragmented data sources and improve transparency. This marks a significant step forward in modernizing and streamlining access to behavioral health data. The initial version of the Behavioral Health Public County Profile provides a high-level snapshot of key information, including –draft Integrated Plan status, county demographics, and homelessness and housing visualizations, as well as a quick reference guide within the display for the public to better understand the information being presented. Using standardized definitions and shared identifiers, the Behavioral Health Public County Profile data is comparable between counties and statewide and will be aligned in public reporting. The Behavioral Health Public County Profile visualizations will be continuously updated as new data sets and behavioral health reporting becomes available. DHCS is releasing the Behavioral Health County Profile in phases based on data availability and reporting timelines. The initial version includes the following sections: * Overview * Demographics (general population and Medi-Cal behavioral health) * Integrated Plan (draft submission status) * Homeless/Housing The Behavioral Health County Profile makes county behavioral health data comparable statewide and provides aligned public reporting. It provides a digestible snapshot of Integrated Plans, funding information, compliance status, and performance over time—and will be enhanced with additional data sets so DHCS and counties can work from the same facts at the same time. This marks an important step forward in behavioral health data access just two years after California voters passed the Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA).
