Bear Morphology and Tooth Cementage

Published by National Park Service | Department of the Interior | Catalog Last Checked: October 07, 2026 at 10:35 PM | Dataset Last Updated: May 05, 2025 at 12:00 AM
These data appear to be records of bear morphology and tooth cementage, probably collected by Warren Ballard for the National Park Service in Alaska. They were part of a collection of files given to the NPS Arctic Network data manager around 2012 by the wildlife biologist in Western Arctic Parklands. No metadata, report or any ancillary information was submitted to provide context to the data. Use of these data is ‘as-is’. Location: Unknown. Ballard worked a lot in western Alaska, around Red Dog mine, in the Noatak Park and Seward Peninsula. Reports by Ballard are available by searching the NPS Data Store. Column definitions and unit of measure: Mostly unknown. Purpose: Unknown. The original spreadsheet had the results of a regression of CEMENTAGE by HEADL. Presumably these parameters were most of interest.
