Basin characteristic rasters for Texas StreamStats

Published by U.S. Geological Survey | Department of the Interior | Catalog Last Checked: August 01, 2026 at 03:16 AM | Dataset Last Updated: July 21, 2026 at 12:00 AM
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), calculated several basin characteristic rasters for use in the Texas StreamStats application (U.S. Geological Survey, 2026). These rasters have a resolution of 90 or 30 meters and represent various environmental, geological, and land use attributes within the Texas StreamStats study area; they are applied in the StreamStats application to describe delineated watersheds. The twenty-four 4-digit Watershed Boundary Dataset Hydrologic Unit Codes (HUCs) represented by these datasets are 1108, 1109, 1110, 1112, 1113, 1114, 1201, 1202, 1203, 1204, 1205, 1206, 1207, 1208, 1209, 1210, 1211, 1303, 1304, 1305, 1306, 1307, 1308, and 1309 (U.S. Geological Survey, 2026). The Texas StreamStats application provides access to spatial analytical tools that are useful for water-resources planning and management, as well as engineering and design purposes. The map-based user interface can be used to delineate drainage areas, determine basin characteristics, and estimate annual peak-flow frequency statistics for gaged and ungaged streams.
