Automated Safety Camera (ASC) Locations and Violations Tracker

Metadata Updated: November 5, 2025

DC's Automated Safety Camera (ASC) program is designed to create safer roadways for all road users in the District of Columbia. As part of our Vision Zero goal, DDOT’s aim is to eliminate all traffic-related fatalities and severe injuries on District roadways. The District uses ASCs to enforce violations related to speed, red lights, stop signs, bus lanes, and trucks, and are located in stationary locations throughout the city or on select moving buses. This dashboard is updated daily with current Automated Traffic Enforcement (ATE) camera locations and violations issued, per camera, in the District of Columbia. An ATE camera can have the following statuses:Configuration (no issuances, camera system set-up),Live (issuing Notice of Infractions), Warning (issuing warnings Notice of Infractions), orIdle (no issuances, camera temporarily down for maintenance, or other reasons). This dashboard shows the locations and violation history for Speed, Stop Sign, Red-Light, and Truck Restriction cameras. The number of Clear Lanes (bus lanes) and School Bus Stop Arm cameras is shown, but the camera locations are not on the map, as they do not have fixed locations (they move with the bus). Violation counts for moving cameras are not currently shown.Data stores are managed through the District’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) vendor’s platform. Violations are validated by the vendor's Legal Instruments Examiners and two independent ATE Legal Instruments Examiners, and notices are mailed. There may be up to a one-month delay from the time of the violation before it is accurately reflected in the data. How to use this dashboard:Select an ATE camera by clicking it on the map, hold 'Shift' to select multiple ATE locations. Selected camera(s) appear with a pink halo; camera details and violation history (sections shaded blue) will update with information from the selected camera(s). Click elsewhere on the map to erase selection.
