Asbestos & Demolition Permits
This dataset includes all asbestos abatement (including Operations and Maintenance Asbestos Removal Permits) and demolition permits received by the Cook County Department of Environment & Sustainability.
Under Chapter 30 of the Cook County Code, asbestos abatement permits are required for all asbestos projects. Demolition permits are required if wrecking or removing/disturbing any load-supporting or load-bearing structural member of the building. Commercial, school, and hospital facilities with more than one building must have a separate permit for each building.
Data provided is sourced from completed permit applications and may be subject to user error. Please exercise caution and do not consider building-specific information from this dataset to be authoritative. Permit applications that are under review are not included in this dataset.
