Appendices from flow frequency report--Magnitude and Frequency of Peak and Low Flows in the Elkhorn River Basin, Nebraska, 1881-2022
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Nebraska Department of Transportation, initiated a flow-frequency study for the Elkhorn River basin in Nebraska for flow data for water years 1881-2022. Estimates of the magnitudes of peak flow were determined using the USGS PeakFQ flood-frequency program, version 7.4. at the 50, 20, 10, 4, 2, 1, 0.5, and 0.2 percent chance annual exceedance probabilities (otherwise known as the 2-, 5-, 10-, 25-, 50-, 100-, 200-, and 500-year floods, respectively). Low-flow frequency magnitude estimates were computed using the U.S. Geological Survey Hydrologic Toolbox version 1.0.0 for the 1-day, 7 day, and 30 day time series at the 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 year recurrence intervals.
This data release contains the tabular data that are listed as appendices (tables 1.1 and 2.1) in the larger work as comma delimited files. These appendices contain recurrence interval and corresponding exceedance floods for streamgages in the Elkhorn River Basin (table 1.1), and non-exceedance flow for the 1-day, 7-day, and 30-day low-flows for streamgages in the Elkhorn River Basin (table 2.1)
