Almaty range front fault, Akterek site 2, Kazakhstan
We used a compact camera mounted on a drone to survey the fault scarp of the E-W striking, S-dipping, reverse Almaty range front fault, Kazakhstan.
At this site we measured the offset of river terraces and alluvial fans to evaluate the Lat Quaternary activity of the fault. The overall aim of the project was to better understand the active tectonics of the Zailisky Range and to reveal the traces of active faulting in the landscape.
