    Airport Impact Overlay District

    Metadata Updated: January 31, 2025

    The AIOD is administered by Loudoun County. The boundaries are based on the Loudness Day Night (LDN) noise contours that were updated by the Metropolitan Area Airports Authority (MWAA) in 2019, as well as a one-mile buffer that extends beyond the 60 decibel LDN contour for both the Washington-Dulles International Airport and Leesburg Municipal Airport.  

     

    Amendments to the AIOD were adopted by the Board of Supervisors on January 17, 2023.
