Airborne magnetic and radiometric data acquired over parts of Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pima, Pinal, and Santa Cruz Counties, Arizona

Metadata Updated: September 14, 2025

This data release provides digital flight line data for a high-resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric survey of the Arizona Porphyry Copper Belt in southeastern Arizona. The airborne survey was funded by the Earth Mapping Resources Initiative. NV5 Geospatial, in collaboration with EDCON-PRJ, Inc., acquired high-precision airborne magnetic and radiometric data from November 15, 2023 to August 26, 2024. Data were collected with a fixed wing aircraft along east-west flight lines spaced at 200 meters, and north-south tie lines spaced at 2000 meters, at a nominal terrain clearance of 120 meters above topography, except where rough terrain or populated areas required greater clearance. A total of 162,419 line-kilometers of magnetic and radiometric data was acquired along 1,040 primary survey lines and 85 tie lines. Files available in this data release include the magnetic data, the radiometric data, and a report describing the survey parameters, field operations, quality control, and data processing procedures. In addition, ZIP files are provided that contain the proprietary-format data files delivered by the contractor as Geosoft databases and grids.
