AFSC/RACE/FBEP/Ryer: Polychaete worm tubes modify juvenile northern rock sole Lepidopsetta polyxystra depth distribution in Kodiak nurseries

Metadata Updated: April 1, 2024

This dataset is from a study that evaluates whether inter-annual variability in the depth distribution of juvenile northern rock sole on their nursery grounds around Kodiak Island, Alaska, is a response to changes in the availability of habitat created by polychaete tubes, principally Sabellides sibirica.

Lineage Video sled surveys were conducted during mid-July, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2009 in 2 known nursery areas, Holiday Beach and Pillar Creek Cove, in Chiniak Bay, Kodiak, Alaska, using a towed camera sled. The relative abundance of polychaete worm tubes and density of age 0 yr flatfish was scored during video playback.
