AE-E Extreme UltraViolet (EUV) Spectrometer Flux

Published by NASA Space Physics Data Facility (SPDF) Data Services | National Aeronautics and Space Administration | Catalog Last Checked: May 06, 2026 at 07:12 PM | Dataset Last Updated: April 20, 2026
The EUV flux data came from the Extreme UltraViolet Spectrometer on the Atmosphere Explorer E. The data\nfor 15 wavelength groups are normalized to the reference spectrum SC21REFW.DAT (located in directory REF_SPEC). GET_EUVS.FOR is a program to read\nthe EUV data file (written by Dean Pesnell).\n\nThe EUVS instrument is described in an article by Hinteregger\nin Radio Science, Volume 8, Number 4, 349-360, 1973. For more\nreferences please consult the file REF_LIST in the AEDOC\ndirectory.\n\nIn addition to the solar EUV measurements, the EUVS also provided\nan opportunity to study the optical depth (absorption) of the\nthermosphere. Details of this analysis are described in:\n\n L.M. Chaikin and K. Fukui, Absorption Data Analysis\n for EUVS Experiment on the Satellites AE-C, D, and E,\n Air Force Geophysics Laboratory, Report AFGL-TR-79-0191,\n Hanscom AFB, Massachusetts, August 1979.\n
