A high-throughput, automated technique for microplastic detection, quantification, and characterization in surface waters using laser direct infrared spectroscopy

Published by U.S. EPA Office of Research and Development (ORD) | U.S. Environmental Protection Agency | Catalog Last Checked: April 21, 2026 at 08:03 PM | Dataset Last Updated: January 31, 2022
Raw LDIR exported data for microplastics including the surface water samples, air blanks, Super-Q blanks, and field blanks. The aspect ratios determined from the shape standards are included. Additionally, the FTIR and LDIR spectra of polymers are included. This dataset is associated with the following publication: Whiting, Q.T., K.F. O'Connor, P.M. Potter, and S.R. Al-Abed.
