    The lidar Morphometric Protection Index (MPI) is the MPI data product produced and distributed by the National Park Service, Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Morphometric Protection Index analyses the immediate surrounding of each cell up to an given distance and evaluates how the relief protects it.
