Base flow, which can serve as a proxy for annual recharge, streamflow, \nand runoff were estimated from computer programs\u2014PART (Rutledge, 1993), HYSEP \n(Sloto and Crouse, 1996), and BFI (Wahl and Wahl, 1988)\u2014that are included in the \nhydrograph analysis component provided with version 1.0 of the U.S. Geological \nSurvey Groundwater Toolbox. Only complete years (January to December) of record \nat each gage were used to determine annual estimates. Estimates of base-flow index, \nwhich is the percentage of streamflow from base flow, are included in the annual and \naverage tables. Precipitation was estimated by calculating the average of cell values \nin the PRISM dataset intercepted by basin boundaries where previously defined in the \nGAGES-II dataset (Falcone, 2011). Estimates of evapotranspiration were then \ncalculated from the difference between precipitation and streamflow.", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/P9BHWNN4", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.2d772414-22aa-4ab5-8d7a-12e33f66a51e.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_2d772414-22aa-4ab5-8d7a-12e33f66a51e", "keyword": ["Alabama", "Appalachian Plateaus", "Appalachian Plateaus Region", "Base flow", "Base-flow index", "Georgia", "Hydrograph Separation", "InlandWaters", "Kentuchy", "Mississippi", "New York", "Ohio", "Pennsylvania", "Runoff", "Streamflow partitioning", "Tennessee", "USGS Groundwater Resources Program", "USGS:2d772414-22aa-4ab5-8d7a-12e33f66a51e", "Water budgets", "West Virginia", "geoscientificInformation", "inland waters"], "modified": "2020-11-17T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-88.5772, 32.5329, -75.5421, 42.7369", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Point Locations of 849 Continuous Record Streamflow Gages Used to Estmate Annual and Average Values of Water-Budget Components Based on Hydrograph Separation and PRISM Precipitation in the Appalachian Plateaus Region, 1900-2011"}
