These sites include:\n01648010 Rock Creek at Joyce Road, Washington, DC\n05586300 Illinois River at Florence, Illinois\n06731000 Cherry Creek below Cherry Creek Lake, Colorado\n06807000 Missouri River at Nebraska City, Nebraska\n06935965 Missouri River at St. Charles, Missouri\n08374550 Rio Grande near Castolon, Texas\n08375300 Rio Grande at Rio Grande Village, Big Bend National Park, Texas\n09404200 Colorado River above Diamond Creek near Peach Springs, Arizona\n11447650 Sacramento River at Freeport, California\n12046260 Elwha River at diversion near Port Angeles, Washington\nThe dataset includes suspended-sediment concentration (SSC) data derived from an in-situ acoustic sensor (in milligrams per liter, mg/L), as well as laboratory-analyzed SSC data from discrete, physical samples (in mg/L), turbidity data collected from optical sensors (in Formazin Nephelometric Units, FNU), percentage of fines data (percent fines, %), and depth below the surface of the river (in meters) where physical samples were collected for select sites. The in-situ SSC data were determined using Sequoia Scientific\u2019s LISST-ABS, a submersible acoustic sensor that measures acoustic backscatter at a point within a river or stream cross-section. The LISST-ABS emits an acoustic signal and measures the relative strength of the backscatter (the acoustic energy scattered by sediment back toward the signal source) which is converted from decibels to a concentration reading in milligrams per liter.", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/P9LROJE4", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.5ec55e3482ce476925eb52b2.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_5ec55e3482ce476925eb52b2", "keyword": ["Cherry Creek", "Clay", "Colorado River", "Elwha River", "Fine Sand", "Illinois River", "Missouri River", "Rio Grande River", "Rock Creek", "Sacramento River", "Silt", "USGS:5ec55e3482ce476925eb52b2", "Very Fine Sand", "acoustic methods", "acoustics", "biota", "creek", "regression analysis", "river", "sediment transport", "sedimentology", "suspended material (water)", "turbidity"], "modified": "2020-08-13T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-123.5600, 29.1300, -77.0400, 48.1200", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Data for Field Evaluation of the Sequoia Scientific LISST-ABS Acoustic Backscatter Sediment Sensor"}
