The hydraulic-head observations were developed by compositing one or more \nwater-levels measured in wells throughout the DVRFS model domain, a 45,000 square-kilometer \nregion of southern Nevada and California. To develop hydraulic-head observations, nearly all available \nwater levels for the DVRFS region through 2004 were compiled in Ground-Water Site Inventory (GWSI), \nthe ground-water component of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Water Information System \n(NWIS) database. Water levels suitable for developing hydraulic-head observations representative of \nregional, steady-state (pre-pumping) and transient (affected by pumping) ground-water flow conditions \nwere identified through analyses. The resulting water levels were averaged by year and for each well to \nproduce 4,899 hydraulic-head observation values at 868 wells. The uncertainty of each hydraulic-head \nobservation was statistically quantified from the values of uncertainties associated with well altitude and \nlocation, nonsimulated transient stress, measurement accuracy, model discretization, and pumpage \nestimates.", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/P9JN5U3D", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.72143f65-f386-4d84-b537-ad4b3db19ec3.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_72143f65-f386-4d84-b537-ad4b3db19ec3", "keyword": ["Amargosa Desert", "Ash Meadows", "California", "California Valley", "Chicago Valley", "China Ranch", "Clark County", "Clayton Valley", "Coal Valley", "Death Valley", "Death Valley regional ground-water flow system", "Esmeralda County", "Eureka Valley", "Franklin Lake", "Franklin Well", "Garden Valley", "Inyo County", "Kern County", "Las Vegas Valley", "Lincoln County", "MODFLOW-2000", "Mesquite Valley", "Mineral County", "Mono County", "Nevada", "Nevada Test Site", "Nye County", "Oasis Valley", "Owlshead Mountains", "Pahranagat Range", "Pahrump Valley", "Panamint Range", "Penoyer Valley", "Railroad Valley", "Resting Spring", "Saline Valley", "San Bernadino County", "Sarcobatus Flat", "Sheep Range", "Shoshone", "Silurian Valley", "Spring Mountains", "Stewart Valley", "Stone Cabin Valley", "Tecopa", "USGS:72143f65-f386-4d84-b537-ad4b3db19ec3", "Yucca Mountain", "environment", "flow model", "geoscientificInformation", "ground water", "ground-water pumping", "hydraulic head", "hydraulic-head observation", "hydrology", "inlandWaters", "observation uncertainty", "southern Nevada", "steady-state ground-water model", "steady-state hydraulic-head observation", "transient ground-water model", "transient hydraulic-head observation", "water level", "water well"], "modified": "2020-11-17T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-117.191034, 35.635252, -115.174864, 37.905347", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Locations, values, and uncertainties of hydraulic-head observations for the transient ground-water flow model, Death Valley regional ground-water flow system, Nevada and California"}
